How is the Gulf Coast recovering from the oil spill?
The BP oil spill in 2010 occurred off the SE coast of Louisiana, 120 miles from us. Actually, there never was any damage here in Biloxi. The beaches look exactly the same as they did prior to the oil spill.
Where exactly are you located?
We are in the center of the Gulf Coast a block east of The Edgewater Mall just north of the beach. We are in Edgewater Park, a quiet and safe upscale residential neighborhood. We are on a dead end street with no through traffic.
Do you have weekly and monthly rates?
We are essentially an extended-stay facility and our preference is for accommodations for a week or more. However, we accept short term reservations as available.
Is a deposit required?
With a reservation guaranteed with a debit or credit card, no deposit is necessary. If no card is available, we require a 50% deposit --- generally a check or money order.
How much tax do your charge?
We are required to collect 12% taxes on accommodations less than 90 days. 7% is sales tax which is added to any kind of purchases, 3% tax on accommodations throughout Mississippi supports the state and local tourism offices, welcome centers, maps, magazines, etc, and a 2% local tax is being collected for the Coliseum renovation and Convention Center expansion. This tax should be eliminated once the work is paid for.
How do I know if you have availability?
It is impossible to keep up with availability on a website. Use the Reservation form or call any time.
What if I make a reservation and have to cancel?
There is no penalty if you cancel soon enough. Our policy is one day's notice for each day booked ---- i.e. 2-day notice for a 2-day reservation, 7-day notice for a one week reservation, 30-days notice for a monthly reservation.
Does The Balmoral Inn have a view of the beach?
Most of our units have a clear view of the water from the living room.

Being located in the center of the Gulf Coast, we're probably not more than 15 minutes drive from almost anything. Here are a few key destination points:

Do you allow pets?
We are pet friendly and can accommodate any kinds of pets under 30 pounds. No crocodiles please. There is no extra charge nor deposit required. Guests are responsible for the behavior of their pets or any damage they may do.
Do you provide breakfast?
No, although we do provide Leroy Hill Gourmet Coffee service to each unit. Since all the apartments have complete kitchens, most of our guests make better breakfasts than we can.
Do you have any meeting rooms?
No, although our Gazebo has tables and chairs and is used frequently for informal meetings.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 2:00pm or later and check-out is 11:00am or earlier. At times, we can allow early check-in or late check-out, but can only confirm that 24 hours in advance.
Do you have Smoking / No Smoking units?
We prefer that guests do not smoke in the apartments, and most are happy to comply. With both front and rear covered patio areas, it is not inconvenient for smokers to step outside.
Do you have Internet access?
We have T-1 high speed internet access with a fast and safe private wired ethernet network. We do not currently have WiFi, but expect to add it this year. If you have a smart phone, IPad, Kindle or other wireless device, bring a wireless router which works fine plugged into our network (or you can buy one locally for $20-something).
